Developer (Part-time)

The post holder will be responsible for the analysis, design and development of web-based applications and database systems required by studies and operational departments in the Unit. S/he will build and maintain full-stack solutions using modern .NET technologies (ASP.NET Core, Blazor, Entity Framework Core), write utility toolkits for electronic data capturing, API-based data integration, and data export, as well as reporting and dashboards. The post holder will perform as a database administrator and will be responsible for study related database maintenance as well as legacy and archive database management. The post holder will also be responsible for troubleshooting, updating, and modernising existing application and database systems.

Bachelor in Computer Science /Information Systems / related field OR minimum of 5 years of working experience as a developer/programmer • Experience of database system analysis and design • Hands on experience with Microsoft Visual Studio. • Working knowledge of other RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and data access using ODBC. • Experience writing stored procedures, triggers and database functions. • Experience in database administration and database & query optimization. • Experience of client-server and cloud-based application design and development • Experience of desktop and web-based application development, including RESTful API design and integration • Experience of using C#, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, and the modern .NET (6+) framework • Willingness to work in a role where the operation of availability and time-critical systems is routine. • Willingness to work flexi-time. • Willingness to acquire further programming skills. • Experience working within Agile/Scrum software delivery frameworks, using Git-based version control Desirable • Knowledge of EAV data model and applications such as REDCap, OpenClinica, etc. • Knowledge/experience of waterfall and other structured SDLC methodologies • Experience/knowledge of design and development of Android application for data collection • Experience with OAuth-based authentication and third-party API integrations • Knowledge of single sign-on and identity federation (e.g. AD FS, OIDC)

A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate will be paid. The role will be on a part-time basis, with 16.75 work hours a week. Please note that the salary will be paid in Dalasi. The appointment is up to 31st July 2028 and subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
