Merchant Opening Lead

Wave is looking for a Merchant Opening Lead for its payments operations in The Gambia. The role manages field opening teams, executes field strategy, grows Wave's merchant base by opening, training and branding merchants, and maintains desirable transacting rates. The role includes planning and executing merchant acquisition at scale, developing processes and training, analysing merchant performance, and working with Risk and Fraud to reduce threats. You will work from Wave's office in Kotu and may travel to field locations. Work authorisation in The Gambia is required. This is a permanent position. Fluent in English and fluent in both Mandinka and Wolof. At least 5 years of relevant experience managing a network, including at least 2 years managing field-based teams of more than 50 people. Strong geographical knowledge of The Gambia. Strong team leadership, communication, project ownership, analytical and operational skills are valued.
